Serving you
Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion has a network of Branch Service Officers whom assist veterans, serving military and RCMP members, and ex-serving military and RCMP members with claims for disability pensions; involving their service with those agencies or with financial problems following retirement.
For full details, people with claims can contact the Branch Service Officer closest to where they live (Legions are listed in your local telephone directory and every issue of the Torch), this Command's Provincial Service Officer (listed below) or the Dominion Command Offices or Veterans Affairs Canada. It should be noted that Legion Membership, although encouraged, is not a requirement to obtain assistance
Some of the areas for which your Service Bureau provides assistance include the following:
- The Disability Pension System
- Exposure to Poison Gas
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Claims for Service with Other Countries
